It's very cool, but it has nothing to do with GIMP. He could just have said "an UI mockup and branding idea for an image editing software".

I wouldn't say nothing. He proposed sensible fixes to a few things that have been driving me mad for a long time

I still wish Glimpse had worked out- great name, great spirit. I find Tom's suggestions remind me of the sans-serif invasion (velvetshark.com/why-do-brands-…) and the attendant logo frankly looks more like the copyright logo than an 'open' version. I think the 'thiccboi' version starts becoming interesting. I also can't be the only one who sees ai inclusion and runs for the hills. I do think the decluttering is a great step forward however.
