Many great points! Free software is incredibly important and could mitigate so much of the issues we have with planned obsolescence and the e-waste that it creates.

I love #FourFreedoms the point is: #StallmanReport says that 5 important people should leave #FSF and GNU as well...

The GNU project holds copyrights (copylefts) to its software that people are contributing under GPL...

Only GNU Project can change the licenses.

RMS keeps them on GPL for 40 years.

that's how they protect the GNU software, yes. It needs to stay that way and must not be changed to a more permissive license. RMS has dedicated his whole life to make sure that we get the guarantee for those four freedoms and it would be unwise for all of us to undo his 40-year effort. However, nobody is stopping anyone from making new software that does the same or similar functionality as GNU software does. OpenBSD does that.
