As an experiment, I asked Copilot to remove the background (the yard outside my work, and my garden) from pictures with a small dog and 2 cats (leaving me with the animal on a transparent background).

Rather than even admit the background was too busy and / or the animal pictures too small (although they could have been done manually by zooming into the photo), I got returned pictures of an entirely different dog (short haired Patterdale rather than Patterdale/Yorkshire cross) and two ginger cats became one ginger cat and a tabby.

OK this isn't photography for a zoology research paper, but the worst part was the whole bullshitting (rather than simply admitting it wasn't possible to do what I had asked), no way would I trust this for anything critical..
