I've also tested quite a few and ended up with #QuodLibet. It's a very versatile offline music player that allows you to customise a lot of things. What I personally find most handy about it, is it's metadata editing and cover art download capabilities. It just works, is fast, and doesn't get in the way.

Gapless (flathub.org/apps/com.github.ne…) is incredible - I love that one in particular because it supports m3u files for playlist, so it's enough to pull your music from Spotify to it :)
