So hello again Mastodon.

As the server I recently moved to is closing, I figured now would be a good time to setup our own private server for longevity and stability.

I’m based in Burnley, just a little to the southwest of Scotland - where I live with Vickie, our 6 canine children and hens.

I talk about: #football #boxing #BurnleyFC #mountains #podencos #python #javascript #technology #indieweb #posse and take photos as and when we get down time or any other excuse to explore.

great idea, I hope more people take control of their presence on mastodon over time, like you would with your own website for example, by either self-hosting or managed hosting to put yourself in control of your destiny. Things change, instances die ... 🤷‍♂️

@lps I’ve moved server 3-4 times now.

For the most part it is easy enough to take followers and followings - but every move drops your content on that server and messes up all of the conversation links from my website to Mastodon.

So for the reasons you point out, felt that this had to be the last move.
