It was the year of the Great Darkness. Chameo, the Lord of DarkSky, became ever more erratic. His followers grew uneasy. Many were seen in the free fields of the Mastodonians, setting up temporary tents, talking to each other about the decline of DarkSky and occasionally asking a Mastodonian passer-by about life in the free fields.

What shall we do about the visitors from DarkSky, one of the knights asked the Lady Joan Mastodon.

Let them find their own way, she said. Most will return to Chameo, their souls are bound to the Great Algo, even if they don't know it themselves. But some will stay.

She must have noticed my surprise.

Yes, Roamer, no toots from me until the Girls are here and the soup is on the table.

Well, this is interesting;

Defend Our Juries have set the Police (and behind them the Govt.) a real test in the wake of today's terrorist attack on a Synagogue in Manchester; focus your resources on the likely targets of terrorism, or use the police to arrest peaceful demonstrators in Central London.

You could not have a starker demonstration (pun intended) of how the proscription of Palestine Action has gone wrong (both practically & politically)

The difference between real terrorism and trumped up terrorism has never been more clear.

Will the Labour government face facts? Somehow, I doubt it. Every road of late in mainstream politics seems to be leading to police states and authoritarianism.

If I take a historical view, then present day democracies respond to change just about as well as the monarchies they took power from.

Watched the early afternoon news, I agree with the BBC that the lead story should have been the attack on the synagogue in Manchester, but disagree with them about the coverage that they gave about the Israeli armed forces boarding a peaceful flotilla in the Mediterranean who are trying to take humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza!
