The first self-propelled wheelchair was invented in 1655 by Stephen Farfler (1633-1689). Farfler had broken his back as a child, and this had rendered him paralyzed from the waist down.
At the age of 22, Farfler used his expertise as a clockmaker to create a wheeled chair that would allow him to move independently. The frame was based on a three-wheel chassis and worked by turning handles attached to a geared front wheel using a system of cranks and cogwheels.

It's true that Zack was previously a member of another party but he did leave the Lib-Dems back in 2017 so more like he disembarked rather than jumped ship.
I certainly did jump ship in 2023 from Starmer's Labour to the Greens

in reply to Steve • • •IMHO Greens represent an aggregation of jumbled aspirations, mainly good intentions. What I feel it doesn’t need is a colourful egotist rather than the considered pragmatism that Lucas applied.
