I wanted to give @penpot a serious try today but it really chugs on my MacBook Pro that runs both Sketch and Figma as smooth as butter.

I did a quick search and according to Reddit it's due to using SVG rendering instead of a custom engine like Figma does.

I tried out the pre-release of FreeCAD 1.0, and it’s looking impressive! I tested it using a pre-existing 3D model, so I didn’t create anything from scratch, but it felt very smooth and responsive. It’s exciting to see the progress made by the community—watching this application grow over the years has been incredible. Kudos to everyone contributing to this open-source tool!
