The inhumane and contemptuous migration policies of the US are being replicated in Europe too. Here in Germany, where I live, as well. There are now plans to set up so-called ‘return hubs’ in third countries – that is, in countries outside the EU. The aim is to be able to send rejected asylum seekers there if they cannot be deported directly to their countries of origin. Countries such as Rwanda, Uganda and Uzbekistan are among those being considered as locations.

It is repulsive, abhorrent and contemptuous of human dignity.
