Another October art challenge complete. A month of drawings of characters from anime, comics and videogames, using the #Arttrober2026 list published by Stanley Lau.
It was fun, but also exhausting—and it killed almost all my free time for a month.
But there was still one thing to do: compile all 31 drawings into a single image—so that's what I've gone and done.

I first watched #Bleach in 2004-10-07. I watched the last franchise finale today, 2026-10-28. 22 years and 21 days; 416 TV episodes (366 original; 50 ending); 4 movies; 2 OVAs, later. The longest and only 21st Century #anime I've finished and without skipping.
The worst #anime trope is "I want to get strong so I can protect the people I care about." This always involves a huge amount of death for the people the protagonist doesn't care about. One of the better things about the _Overlord_ series is that it makes this connection explicitly: the protagonist genocides an entire country because it may in theory help the people he cares about. There it's treated as the kind of thing a person who has lost morality by becoming a lich might say.
Intense training? *Iwa-Kakeru! Climbing Girls* was a unique anime where Konomi, a girl who’s a master of puzzles, gets introduced to the idea of wall climbing and find it as a physical outlet for her skills. Keeping in mind she just played video games, training got the better of her early on, but she becomes notable as the series goes on. @apc #AniMangaFoundIt #anime #IwaKakeru
Satomi Amano is shocked when she stumbles upon details of her mother’s latest project: Sending an AI-powered android named Shion to Satomi’s class at the local high school to see if the robot girl could pass as a normal student!
What follows is a fun, well-written musical where Shion’s connection to Satomi helps bridge relationships and smooth over rivalries with the powers of naiveté and song that might as well belong to a Disney princess!
