Can't afford to splash out on a real 500mm+ lens so took a punt on a Jintu 500mm manual focus mirror jobby. (Previously owned a Cassegrain telescope which was fine)
Pigeon on the fence at the end of the back yard, handheld, looks OK.

Ok les gens je vois que vous appréciez tous les nouveaux billets avec des oiseaux et je vous le dis : vous me décevez.
Tous ces oiseaux fancy et personne pour réclamer un simple et honnête pigeon.
Heureusement pour vous (et l’UE) j’ai pris les choses en main et je vous présente avec fierté le visuel du nouveau billet d’un (1) euro parce que les autres étaient déjà pris. Et que comme ça même sans avoir beaucoup d’argent, on pourra avoir des grosses liasses de billets (ornés de pigeons).

Malinka jest już po udanej operacji i po pierwszej kontroli. Kolejna za tydzień. Ale jej dzieci, Pistacja i Bolek wciąż czekają na swoją szansę na sprawność :(

Na zbiórce mamy 1179 zł. Sama operacja to 800 zł – do tego koszt wizyt kontrolnych, opatrunków i leków. Na operację Malinki starczyło, dla Pistacji i Bolka już nie :(

Another, longer video and more information about about the pigeon being tended to by the Oakland Firefighters, E29 Crew. In it, you can see that the pidgie's beak is open and it's panting heavily. This was during a heat wave, and the nearby car fire and smoke didn't help.

An alarmed pigeon would have made an effort to fly or at least move away, but this one waited quietly on the ground, while a firefighter gave it oxygen through a mask designed especially for animals. 🩶 🧑‍🚒 🔥
