TIL that you can instruct python 3.12 on linux to enable perf profiling support via a PYTHONPERFSUPPORT=1 env variable.

I'm not clutching my pearls or anything, just continually marveling at how bad police are at their supposed jobs

Fun fact: thanks to Bluesky I discovered that I can carry my cat in our old Baby K'tan and now that is what I put him in when he tries to eat chicken off the hot stove

Here's the thing: You are correct that INDIVIDUALIZED consumer choices are not going to make or break corporate policy. But organized, COLLECTIVE consumer choices-- like boycotts-- can and do impact corporate decisionmaking.

That's why I asked if there was a boycott call. I don't worry about "ethical" purchasing bc I think it's mostly a marketing scam, but I will absolutely honor organized calls to boycott or show spending preferences, especially when they come from workers. Because that really does work, sometimes.
