The market paralysis ahead of US labor data exposes a systemic flaw: European markets like the DAX remain hostage to US-centric speculative algorithms rather than real economic fundamentals. Calling this "investor caution" masks a financialized system driven by short-term rate expectations rather than long-term value creation.

BofA's data highlights a methodological trap: comparing fuel spending as a share of income (2023–2026) with historical BLS consumption metrics distorts the real impact. Despite reassuring messaging, the upward trend in deposit outlay signals rigid inelastic costs squeezing household budgets. #Macroeconomics #Inflation #ConsumerTrends

Core Thesis:
A universal cost-of-living crisis is driving intense financial strain across all demographics. Surging prices for daily essentials like groceries and fuel are fueling consumer anxiety, keeping inflation well above the Federal Reserve’s target, and prompting heavy public backlash against corporate price gouging and tariffs as the perceived sources of the crisis.

Bill Phillips ("Phillips Curve") used flowing water to model the economy in in 1949.

> according to his friend economist Richard Lipsey, "all the staff came out to humiliate this upstart idiot." Phillips showed how water flowed from the Treasury tank to chambers representing health and education (as the government spent money) and then got pumped back to the Treasury more or less rapidly as you pulled a lever to tweak the taxation rate. "It turned out after ten minutes that he knew more than everybody there, and they shut up," says Lipsey. They offered him a job at LSE.

I'm going to explain this in economic terms, conceptually, show this all works and why my prediction that the Russian economy will collapse by the end of this year. ..."
