That’s what UK regulator Ofcom is investigating under Online Safety Act rules, alongside complaints about “the potential for illegal content and activity” on the platform. Anyone familiar with the controversial web forum could have this probe wrapped up by lunch, but let’s see how long it takes them.

It starts like this:

I don't know how it should end. Throw 'em at me! Seems like a good header for next week's #PTPL post but it's gotta have a punchline or it won't work.

As a Neovim user myself, and recent Emacs enthusiast (not for coding though) I can see now how this is like comparing apples and oranges.
But it was a funny read :D
Also this should go on:
".org enters the room and finds .md and vim in bed...yuck!"
org-mode! I'm re-building my Logseq workflow in Emacs with org-mode and org-roam, and a bunch of other packages and (((()))).
So basically a PKM system and also task management.
I'm tired of enshittification and also of electron apps.
I'd love to, although I'm quite busy right now, but it's one of many blog posts drafts in my backlog!
I'll get to it eventually...
I'll let you know!
Acht doden bij schietpartij op Oostenrijkse school

"One of the challenges presented by these clusters of data centres, says Showalter, is that ‘you then end up loading an awful lot onto a power grid and a locality very fast, which means figuring out how to deal with that. So, either you build out the grid or you build your own power source and essentially create a cul-de-sac of your own energy use.’"

It seems like the movie Trachtenberg was going for here was way too risky and way too ambitious for a studio to green-light it normally. But if he can do that on a fraction of budget. As animation. And not a budget, something like Pixar uses for their ultra-realistic stuff and fluent motion. But on a fraction of that. He can use the trend of animating on-twos and making everything painterly, to cut all of the corners necessary to make this insane movie with the small amount of money that he is given.
Well done, #Labour !

Both sides said they had severed ties, giving conflicting accounts that triggered widespread criticism from opposition parties in Italy, while the journalists’ federation FNSI called on prosecutors to investigate to ascertain the facts.

Also arrested for what? They weren't even under Israeli jurisdiction when picked up.

As with many things, it basically comes down to who has the bigger gun. Until a naval power pulls its finger out and starts escorting relief ships, Israel is at liberty to seize them.

israel has killed an October 7th's worth of Palestinians before their first birthday (916 infants). They've killed more than 10,000 kids 12 or younger. And they still have the nerve to play victim. Thoroughly diseased society.

Also, just the phrasing of being forced to sign a """"voluntary"""" departure form or face indefinite brutal imprisonment after being kidnapped in international waters is so insane.

No one disputes that the terrorist attack by Hamas was brutal.
Nevertheless, this by no means justifies the genocide being committed by Israel. There are also horrific images of this, of starving children, cold blooded murder of civilians and unbearable suffering - and Israel is even using every means at its disposal to prevent the world from seeing the full extent of their own atrocities.
If Israel were to adhere even remotely to international law and human rights, Thunberg would not be there.
It is absurd that this country continues to portray itself as the victim. They are the perpetrators and responsible for crimes against humanity.
These savages who represent Israel are truly the scum of the earth.

in reply to geneva_convenience • • •It is not a competition in inhumanity. But yes, of course, there is a huge imbalance between the number of Israelis and Palestinians killed. Nevertheless, barbarism remains barbarism, and I am well aware that the Hamas attack has its roots in a long history of oppression.
I don't think this brutal act of violence can be justified in any way. On the contrary, I think it was foreseeable how Israel would react – not with such disproportionate force, but the Hamas terrorists have once again accepted the suffering of their own people, as they have been doing for years. These people are no more freedom fighters than the Israeli government are decent human beings.

In the movie after he tries to commit suicide he wakes up in hospital and the effect of the brainwashing has worn off so he goes back to violence.
In the book the government undo the brainwashing in a bid to get him to support them but he later loses the urges all on his own.
