Mal schauen was 2025 bringt ;)

Extremist settlers attacked the village of Umm Safa, northwest of Ramallah, yesterday evening.

Local sources reported that settlers attacked citizens’ homes on the outskirts of the village, threw stones at them and set fire to the surrounding area.

In an advisory opinion issued in July, the International Court of Justice deemed Israel’s occupation of the West Bank illegal and called for it to come to an end within a year.

They came to Asheville looking for a 'climate haven.' Then came Hurricane Helene

When Mary Ann Roser and her husband moved to Asheville four months ago they introduced themselves to neighbors as “climate refugees from Austin.” After Helene, she has thoughts on “climate havens."

At least 45 more Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, bringing the overall death toll since last year to 42,010, the Health Ministry in the enclave said on Wednesday.

A ministry statement added that some 97,720 others were injured in the ongoing assault.

“Israeli forces killed 45 people and injured 130 others in three massacres of families in the last 24 hours,” the ministry said.

I think the reporters have already got tired of mentioning this. It's time for The Hague to finally do something.

#OTD in 1891.

Émile Zola's stage adaptation of his novel Thérèse Raquin (first performed in 1873) achieves a single London performance, its English stage première (at the Royalty Theatre). To evade the Lord Chamberlain's Office's censorship it has to be staged privately by the Independent Theatre Society, but still attracts criticism on moral grounds.

The timing is the Supreme Court's. This is worse than bullshit. It is disinformation. And the #BrokenTimes chooses to enable it.

Fortunately or unfortunately, the vast majority of US voters don't read the NYT. I'm not sure how many see the headline TLDR on social media. The NYT sucks, but it sucks to *be* the NYT. How much reach does their vibe have?
in reply to Jeff Jarvis

The whole ‘we caused this thing we don’t like but still don’t understand that and are asking the hard questions’ trope really needs to die.

The Swarm of Life by Shane Gross (New Zealand)

This winning image looks under the surface layer of lily pads as a mass of western toad tadpoles swim past. Western toad tadpoles swim up from the safer depths of the lake, dodging predators and trying to reach the shallows, where they can feed. The tadpoles start becoming toads between four and 12 weeks after hatching. An estimated 99% will not survive to adulthood

Remember. You are the one that gets to decide who joins you on this journey as you fly around the sun on a little rock a number of times before surrendering your atoms back into the eternal winds from where they came.

Choose wisely. Don't be bullied. Don't be coerced. Let shit that doesn't matter truly slide.
