Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa (Mound of Shards), a historical archaeological site located in Alexandria, Egypt. The site is also known as the 'Hill of Treasure', regarded as a huge necropolis and royal cemetery that dates back to 2nd Century AD. The necropolis has a unique mixture of Roman, Hellenistic and pharaonic art elements reflected in paintings on the wall and style of statues, funeral objects and tombs. It is considered as one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages.

One of the coolest places in Egypt, IMHO. Have been there twice and found it quite astonishing.

Employers will learn not to hire people that went to public school in fascist states. They'll going to be pretty stupid with all the book bans and such

Everything about this is a joy - the birds, their rotundness, their quiffs, the Winter Wonderland framing, the composition. Thanks for capturing and sharing.

It can be a pain to find open access archaeology journals that don't charge hefty APCs. Which is why @bjorn, @joeroe, @andreatitolo and myself created diamond.open-archaeo.info -- a list of diamond-flavoured open venues for publishing, reviewing and curating archaeological research!

Is your meeting Tuesday or ON Tuesday? It actually only matters in rare cases (unless you follow Associated Press style, which says to skip "on" unless it would be confusing).

Skipping "on" is very annoying to British readers, just in case that matters to you. I know, niche.

If every person in the world 🌍 enjoyed the lifestyle and consumption habits of the *average* US citizen, how many Earths would be required to supply their demands?

Yes the title is a bit misleading. Still an interesting fact that we can take from this is that Overpopulation is not as detrimental as overconsumption.
Corollary, the control of natality in the global south is a waste of resources for a sustainable world, while vasectomies in the global north, in golf, polo clubs especially would do wonders.

Sorry to be lazy, but for a country like China, is their consumption being split from their exports?

A four-panel comic strip depicting a humorous take on the Last Supper. Jesus is shown offering bread and wine, then a kielbasa, to his disciples. The disciples react with increasing confusion and one exclaims "I'm betraying you!" The overall tone is lighthearted and irreverent.

Just found a cool piece of petrified wood! If the state geologic maps are right this is late Cretaceous (about 70 million years ago) and the wood grain is still clearly visible. #fossils #rocks #geology #paleontology
