Interesting. So, when conservative men call themselves "Family Man", that is actually a confession?

Curl Drops Support For Hyper Rust HTTP Backend Citing Little Demand

The widely-used Curl project has removed support for its Rust-written Hyper HTTP back-end that they were experimentally shipping for several years. The removal of this Rust back-end comes from having little end-user and developer interest in this portion of the code...

Very disappointed to see that Phoronix also has a broken adblocker-detector.

I don't have an adblocker, though I do block tracking requests.

My dear friends, I don’t know what to do now. I created Vernissage for Pixelfed because I believed this platform would become my new home for photos. Unfortunately, the number of bugs and the slow pace of development led me to create my own platform, and the former Vernissage became Imperssia. I didn’t want to leave you without this app. But what should I do now? I have never insulted anyone, yet I’m being called a weirdo.

Yikes.

And that’s from someone whose mobile apps are janky piles of React Native that sort of work? Pot, kettle.

@dansup I write iOS apps for a living, and have done so for over a decade. They’re all native, though.

React Native, like Electron, just feels like a stopgap for when you don’t have the resources to make a proper app (or shareholders said no); the fit and finish are never going to be the same, and it’s going to feel slow and burn through battery. Surely in that case, you’d welcome someone else doing that for your APIs?

10 Awesome Games You Can Play Right Now In Your Browser Without Installing Anything

The image shows a computer screen displaying multiple video game windows arranged in a grid-like fashion. In the foreground are various game interfaces, including a chessboard, a hexagonal tile game resembling Settlers of Catan, a Wordle word puzzle, and what appears to be a first person shooter. The background is dominated by the vibrant colours and designs of the games themselves, creating a visually stimulating and dynamic scene.
Sometimes you have the urge to play some video games, but you don’t have the right hardware with you. Perhaps you’re stuck at work or school, or you have a basic device like a Chromebook. The good news is that there are a lot of games out there where you need nothing more than a web browser to play.

I'm calling this year's #AdventOfCode a success with 37 stars.

December has reached a point where it's time to start enjoying the approaching Christmas so I won't be solving any more puzzles before Santa arrives.I may revisit the missing puzzles later.

I had such a lovely time this year here on Mastodon with all of you who took part. I read many great solutions and had brilliant discussions, making new online friends and learning from others. Thank you all ❤️

Doctor uses car to ram into German Christmas market, killing 5 including a toddler. Many more were injured, more than the local hospital could handle:
