For example, I saw this response post in my feed, and then, when I clicked on it, I could not see the original post that was being responded to.

Why do we have to click a link to go to the mastodon.social home page in order to see the original post?

Can you tell me why this change happened? What exactly is the purpose?

Annoying, to say the least.

Is this a situation where the author edited the original post? That might be causing the front end to get confused about the status of the version of the post you are looking at...
