@caos Nicht direkt. Ich war zweimal da. Super nette Leute, viel Sachverstand, angenehme Atmosphäre. Aber ist am Ende nicht so ganz mein Thema, weil ich mit meinem uralt WinXP System für Musik immer noch am besten klar komme. Bin da zu wenig Admin und zu viel Musiker.

Just a screenshot of my #gentoo #linux install. It hasn't been updated for 41 days. Thing takes time to fully upgrade but at least I can see what it's doing on the terminal unlike #windows where it only shows the percentage on how much is done.

I don't like percents. I like full detailed reports so I don't have to bash my head on the wall, flip the dinner table across the kitchen doing puzzle solving on the computer when the OS decides to fucking break while in the middle of an update!

I really didn't wanna do it. That November 2021 update turned out fine but who could've known if May 2022 update will go wrong, especially since I'm doing online school & shit. That and the bullshits Micro$oft keeps pushing on Windows 11 that nobody even wants.

So fuck you Micro$oft. Fuck you Window$. You put me, a 14 - 19 year old into puzzle solving your own crappy system. I might've gotten better at problem solving but I can only take so much.

Since I moved to #linux 3 years ago, I had never experienced such trauma ever since. Documentation is a godsend. Reading has become a necessity. Understanding and adapting what's on the wikis and other resources to my configuration was a nice skill to have. I don't have to hope that some random command I found online will fix the problem, because I have full control over my PC. I know what's in there. I know what I have installed and I can backtrack on the things I've done.

I'm contemplating a bike tour between Washington DC and Pittsburgh along the GAP and C&O canal towpath. It's 333 miles total and virtually all trail. There is Amtrak bike service along the route, meaning I could bike one way and take the train back. Lots of variables up in the air now so just curious if anyone out there has done this ride or has tips.
