I put a watermark on the passport so they can't steal it, but it refuses the watermark. I can't use it with my browser on GrapheneOS. I can't use their mobile app, since it's meant for vendors. I can't use my PC, since they require mobile phone.

in reply to Brodie Robertson • • •I see a similar way of thinking with OOTB software stacks and freedom/choice. The freedom/choice part is of the code IIUC, not with any final packaging that some project offers. So it doesn't make much sense when someone says, 'they're taking away our choices by not supporting x anymore'. That final profuct is of the projects, of course it'll be what they want it ro be.
People's freedom lies in the ability to take the code and do whatever, anything more is a bonus IMHO.

in reply to Brodie Robertson • • •they don't know Jack about open source. I would honestly suggest they watch Revolution OS. Granted, it is an old documentary about Linux and open source in general.
But you learn about GNU and GPL (v2), plus the fact that you ARE allowed to profit off of free software. As long as you understand what license you're using.
You can profit off of open source directly or indirectly. Offer a support resource or a purchasable binary. But the source code must be freely available.
