Throughout the passed year or so graffiti celebrating rats has appeared throughout Cal Anderson park and probably around the city.
After the city razed the BLM Memorial Garden #BLMG from the park the mayor's office has seemed hell bent on keeping the park clear of any signs of community life not pre-approved by the local government.
And they put a ton of effort into erasing the rat themed graffiti.

After numerous paint based graffiti tags about rats were removed, the artist to a turn for significantly more permenance.

in reply to nullagent • • •In a "feels like a Portlandia episode" moment the city decided to handle the mosaic exactly how it does all other graffiti.
City workers and cops did what they were told to do. They painted right on over the rat mural and the city council debated giving the cops even more resources and punishments to doll out to make sure this sort of thing(clever art) never happens again in Seattle.
