taskwarrior seems like a good idea when i try to install it. then i use it a week and hate it.

i think because its nice for "just show me the next immediate thing, and then do the next immediate thing." but if you tend to plan project outlines then... well, it can, but its painful.

ultimately i miss MLO and OmniOutliner/OmniPlan. it could be nice with some scripts.

in reply to Q.U.I.N.N.

ex. storing the big outlines in freeplane where its easy to visualize and work out all the yak shaving. then sync the outline to taskwarrior (which can handle it all, the UX is just ass) or jtxboard (which can only really handle flat lists well; but that's ok, just shove the next actions to it.)

would just have to care enough to deal with the rust and xml and whatever bullshit is involved in the specific formats they speak :|

Hey makers, electronics, small biz, and marketing people: soliticing ideas for a 2-4 word sign I can hang in my booth at local holiday markets that indicates all the electronics in our booth are made by us. I really haven’t done many general public events (maker faires and yarn shows are all attended by makers), and I think people glance at us, see LEDs, and assume we’re reselling something from amazon. Specifically, something I can put by our Glowies, link for context: alpenglowindustries.com/collec…

It should mention..
This is mainly, 'cos I couldn't be bothered to do a course or learn on line?

Here's an alt-text description for the image:

This is a black and white photograph of a multi-story building at night, illuminated by interior lights shining through many windows. The building is symmetrical, with a flat roof and a regular grid pattern of rectangular windows. The lower level features a wide entrance area with doorways and what appear to be display windows. Two dark-colored classic cars are parked in front of the building. Signage is visible on the facade, reading "BAHCO" on the upper level, and "KONSULTERANDE BYRÅN" on the level below that. At the bottom, the text "VÄRMELÖSNINGARAKTIEBOLAG" and "Radiator" are displayed.

do it yourself linux distros are overrated as fuck. i have decided I actually hate spending 2 hours building my OS from a CLI to a usable system. all "build it from scratch with this 3 mile long manual" linux systems can go to hell
in reply to Inderix

its fun in small doses, which is why i still use arch in containers for some dev stuff but frankly its a pain in the ass
in reply to Julia

totally. I can see real use for something like NixOS in a VM as a contained and consistent environment for testing code. The people genuinely telling me to use it as my daily driver operating system? fuck no.

#WritersCoffeeClub 7/12: What writing goals are you working towards with your present work?
Just trying to maintain my two-books-a-year schedule. It’s getting harder as I had a good amount of pre-existing material when I started publishing, but not any more.
Still, Terry Pratchett did it… but then again, I’m not Terry Pratchett.

I just checked out the new #magicearth update and while I prefer the older ui they did fix the map so it actually respects my option to use 2d map instead of 3d one.
But I don't know how I feel about the update and I might consider switching if I don't like it. Might just get used to it

Basically saying no spying is a paid feature... No thanks, I'll stick with Organic Maps which is completely open source and full offline capabilities.
in reply to Paul Black

@Techwizz It depends on if you think online maps is spying but offline maps are best

They went to war when Russia invaded Ukraine. They believed in Freedom and the right to live and work in their God-given land.
Remember their faces and their sacrifice. Remember they laid down their lives not only for Ukraine, but for all of Europe!
