The sedimentary session (hou.usra.edu/meetings/lpsc2024…) is mostly about Gale. I don't follow Curiosity as much, so I enjoyed this view of the recent traverse to grasp the geological context.

Interesting one, Perseverance may visit polygonal ridges after leaving Jezero. This reminds me of the Zooniverse "Planet Four: Ridges" project, @megschwamb , were there any results published?

Another shock for me. Having read interpretations of the "curvilinear unit" based on space observations (mastodon.social/@sharponlooker…), it took me a while to grasp what this paper says abt Tenby

In the absence of the 3D model, I looked at the same spot in NeV-T's gigapan (gigapan.com/gigapans/232028), and only by looking towards the opposite direction, does the penny start to drop.


I found this old(ish) paper about #JezeroCrater and the delta really educative and accessible even when #IAmNotAGeologistTMBut

@megschwamb strange years for everyone... Mind you, I may have had the blog opened in one of dozens tabs in some discarded device

I remember switching to Catalina Sky Survey zooniverse projects from P4R due to its much simpler workflow. Simpler in the sense that I'd feel more secure in the classifications, whereas with P4R there was always a nagging feeling that I was missing things. That was before Perseverance and more looking at CTX pics, today it'd be a completely different feeling 😉
