“No one wants to work anymore” is a hell of a thing to say while actively destroying the climate, crushing wages, and automating every job that pays a living wage.

and even if you like it, you still have to pay people to work. If you don’t pay enough, people don’t want to work. Wanting and having to work are different. Like people loved working 12 hours in a factory.

It's been being said by capitalists unwilling to pay workers properly, for over 150 years.

and why would there even need to be a living "wage"? I have no problem with the principle of automating away menial drudge jobs. Automating away the "grunt" work. Great. Bring it on. But then we need to change our society to accept that people will work exclusively for their own satisfaction, and that nobody should have to work to simply afford to live. A person's worth needs to be decoupled from "what they do", and what they do should not be "for a living".

In William Morris's Utopian fantasy, News From Nowhere, noone had to work, work was done for the satisfaction, and necessary manual work was revered and done for the good of all. I know, it is a Utopian fantasy. At this point in time I think fantasy is all we've got to hold on to.
