I'd bet heavily on the side of YES, I've been runnin it in e16 daily for quite some time. I have `kdeconnect-indicator` fire off upon login and it sits nicely in trayer. If you need a version that integrates with gnomeshell, take a look at gsconnect, it's pretty much identical and works just as smoothly as far as I could tell.

Work quite well with my Linux desktop and various Android devices.

Would still like it but it intensifies my ghost touch problem on my murena fp4 in a big way for some reason
in reply to Tungdiil

@tungdiil, I'd grab all the input you can and address that issue with all three teams. I've had /e/ on a Nexus5x for quite a while and've never noticed anything like that.

Hard to diagnose what it could be as i don't know a way to see what tries to access the touchscreen all i know is that there are two apps that seem to worsen the problem wich are isec7 (SAP) and KDE connect. As in that it sotops being a problem when both arent running (1-2 touches an hour) whilst if they run it is more like a storm of touches between notch and homebutton
in reply to Tungdiil

Even though those two programs may worsen the problem, if you're getting the ghost touches without them running as well, it'd definitely be worth diggin into if you ask me.

- Is that the /e/ install that came on the phone or did you load it?
- Have you tried reinstalling the OS, or a different one?
- Did you inquire with Fairphone or Murena about the issue?

I know a reinstall is a pain in the ass but I think it'd be totally worth it if it got rid of that problem. I'd recommend installing each #LineageOS, #pmOS, and #UBports to see if any of them have the same problem. You should prolly also check to see if in any of those three, KDEconnect causes/exacerbates the ghost touches.

@eshep
Stock android and pther smartphone models had the same problem and after reinstalling i mostly have about a month or two ... After a new smartphone mostly half a year
in reply to Tungdiil

WOW, that sucks. I've only kept the stock OS on one android phone and one tablet out of about ~15 different phones/tablets over the years and never had ghost touch problems on any of them, stock ones included. I did have that problem with a single build of pmos on my pinephone but not with any others.

Hopefully you're able to find a solution. And if that seems to be a fairly common issue with the fp4, it makes me far less upset I can't get my hands on one.

\m/ good luck!

KDE Connect is awesome. I've been using it for years and wouldn't want to be without it.

btw, the Android mobile app is also available in F-Droid.

KDE Connect was such a great of productivity booster, Google had to nerf it with Android 10 (and I kinda still annoyed by that)

Extremely annoying that I now have to hit "Send Clipboard" to sync from phone to computer. Least it still auto syncs the other way round!
in reply to eshep

@eshep I think there's a way to return back that feature, but it requires root :crymsn:

KDE Connect is this strange animal to me. When I need it to share an image or clipboard contents from my iPhone to my desktop (or vice versa), it's a godsend. The other 51 weeks out of the year I don't even know it exists.

Still, it's a welcome integration that beats the pants off MacOS and Windows for usability, which is why I use KDE.
