Looking at temperature anomalies over the last month (left), 3 months (center), and 12 months (right) across the #Arctic... Yikes!

Three orthographic maps showing 2-m air temperature anomalies in February 2025, December 2024 to February 2025, and March 2024 to February 2025 in the Arctic region. Red shading is shown for warmer anomalies, and blue shading is shown for colder anomalies. Most areas are warmer than average. The mean temperature anomaly for each map is also displayed. Anomalies are calculated relative to a 1981-2010 baseline.

ERA5 monthly averaged data on single levels from 1940 to present

ERA5 is the fifth generation ECMWF reanalysis for the global climate and weather for the past 8 decades. Data is available from 1940 onwards. ERA5 replaces the ERA-Interim reanalysis.
