I think one of the biggest problems is that there's no longer an official linux client offered by Adobe.

Exactlyyy! Adobe dropping official Linux support has been a huge issue. Given how widely PDFs are used, it’s surprising they’ve never prioritized a proper Linux client. It just pushes more users toward open-source alternatives—maybe that’s a good thing in the long run :-)!
