@MikeDunnAuthor And your proposal is what? Redistribute all that wealth equally? Equality of opportunity is a good thing, equality of outcome is not. Ask the Bolsheviks how that worked for them.

Speaking for myself I want a very progressive tax rate. More graduations on the tax table reaching as high as 99%. And I want that money to go into public works and welfare.
I want this not only for humane reasons. bot more importantly I want it in order to preserve democracy! In other words, I would want those tax rates even if the collected taxes were not used for anything!
