People who are happy that devs are losing jobs due to AI and then call them "poor engineers" or say they deserve to lose the job because they are "bad" in the first place. Just because your job is safe or you have tons of money in your Bank doesn't give you the right to call others "bad" or "meh" engineers. Have some compassion for humanity. Many first-time engineers put a lot of hard work into learning while fighting poverty or coming from an underrepresented group.

Now don't get me wrong, I can relate very well to your post because I'm the kind of person who gets affected by this, and it does give me a lot of anxiety thinking about the uncertainty of job security in the future. However I also understand that there's no point in blaming technologies like AIs when its actually our economic system that's being hostile to people like us. Remember when horses got replaced by cars? We are the new horses, at least that how the world treats us, as long as we are "useful" to them in some way then we're fed and taken care of, but as soon as they don't need us they kick us out like those horses - then we're left alone to fend for ourselves. The sane thing to do is to take care of people and be kind to them, not because they're "useful" to us but because they

The sane thing to do is to take care of people and be kind to them, not because they're "useful" to us but because they're a human being just like you & me, and everyone deserves to live a peaceful life. We need to build good support systems for people to make sure they have access to food, a place to live, etc. Some countries & organizations already provide some things like free healthcare for people, we need more such initiatives, and not just healthcare but other necessities of life as well. Without a good support system like that there'll be no safety net for us when we fall (and technologies like AI proves that it can happen to any of us), so the world seems like a scary & hostile place without it.
