Climbing Mt Snowdon

Back in April, my friend Taylor, his boys Graham and Eli, and Graham's girlfriend Caroline, came for a visit. They came on the ferry from Ireland, and Ellen and I met them in Holyhead, Wales. Since we were close by, Taylor was gung-ho to climb Mt. Snowdon, the highest peak in the UK outside of Scotland. The others chose other activities, so Taylor and I started the climb at Pen-Y-Pass near Llanberis, Wales. We went up the Pyg Track and came down the Miner's Track. It was a great day for hiking, though it got windier the higher we climbed. I took a bunch of videos, which are linked to below. They'll give you a good idea of how windy it was.
We made the climb on the 2nd of April, a Wednesday, but there were still plenty of people on the mountain.
There's a cafe at the summit, and it is supplied by the Snowdon Mountain Railway, which also takes people up and down the mountain, but only in the summer.

It was so windy that the passenger train I was going to take up the slope was cancelled. I was surprised to see the supply train was running.

Very cool, Dirk! Boy, does it look windy and desolate up there. Glenn says it looks like Everest, minus the snow.

Thanks Cobie! The wind was really howling! 🌬⛰️️
