Pakistan’s Truck Art - A Beautiful Expression of Culture :

Colorfully decorated trucks with artistic impressions tend to adorn roads and highways in Pakistan. For decades, these jingle trucks have acted as canvases for Pakistani artists and granted them a way to introduce the world to Pakistan’s culture, folklore, poetry and art.

History of Pakistan’s truck art goes back to 1920, when Bedford trucks invaded streets of Pakistan.

Seems Elon .... The Early Days 😀

Trip to Mars at 10¢ in 1911 :

A vintage carnival sideshow, sepia photo, where a man is waiting at a podium in front of a priceless poster waiting to take your 10 cents for the experience of a lifetime.

In early 1900s, a sideshow is an extra, secondary production associated with a circus, carnival, fair, or other such attraction.

In 2012, French beekeepers encountered an unusual phenomenon when they discovered blue and green #honey in their hives. This strange coloration immediately aroused the interest and curiosity of beekeepers, and they went in search of the cause. In their investigations, they found that the bees were collecting colored sugar from a nearby M&M factory.

The factory had left remnants of colored sugar in the candy manufacturing process, and the bees had used this sugar as a food source.

The world's only intact Roman legionary shield was discovered in the 1930s at the site of the ancient Roman city of Dura-Europos in modern-day Syria.
This extraordinary artifact, dating from early 3rd Century AD, provides invaluable insight into the daily life and military equipment of #Roman soldiers.

The shield, made of wood and iron with a detailed boss and bronze fittings, was remarkably preserved in the anaerobic conditions of the city's soil.

A hugely exciting discovery!

An enormous hoard of 1,400 #Roman silver coins, and a single #Celtic gold coin of the Dobunni tribe, have been unearthed by builders working on a site near #Worcester. Already nicknamed 'The Worcester Conquest Hoard', it contains coins dating from the Roman Republic all the way up to the reign of Nero, 55 AD, and would have been buried around this time at the outset of the teenage emperor's reign.

A 3,400 year-old ancient #Egyptian beauty box with original containers with traces of makeup and beauty products!

The wooden (sycamore) box is divided into compartments, holding alabaster, faience, and coloured glass jars, inside which are traces of unguents and fat-based creams. Found in the intact Theban tomb (TT8) of Kha and his wife Merit in 1906.

SHE DID IT AGAIN!

Wisdom, the world’s oldest known wild bird, is back with a new partner and just laid yet another egg.

At an approximate age of 74, the queen of seabirds returned to Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge last week and began interacting with a male.

Beautiful and ancient #IceAge art!

Small figurine of a horse, realistically sculpted from mammoth ivory around 15,000 years ago.

Known as ‘The Little Horse of Lourdes’ it was found in 1886 in a rock fissure in the Espélugues cave, Lourdes, Haute-Pyrénées, France.

Measuring (L) 7.3 cm x (H) 3.5 cm, the horse is masterfully sculpted with accurate details.

Have you ever stood in front of the Giant Sequoia Tree exhibit at the Museum?

When this tree sprouted around CE 550, the English language didn’t even exist! This slice came from a 300 ft (91.4 m) tall tree felled by loggers in 1891. Today, it's illegal to cut down giant sequoias.
