The Metropolitan Museum of Art are thrilled to unveil the design for the Oscar L. and H.M. Agnes Hsu-Tang Wing at The Met! Designed by Mexican architect Frida Escobedo, the wing will provide a new world-class home for their extraordinary collection of 20th and 21st-century art. Set to open in 2030, the new wing will increase gallery space by nearly 50 percent and address important accessibility, infrastructure, and sustainability needs.

It's Trilobite Tuesday! Rarely exceeding 1 in (2.5 cm) in length—including its long, graceful tail spine—the small Middle Cambrian ptychopariid trilobite Norwoodia bellaspina hails from Utah’s Weeks Formation. It takes a sharp eye to spot one in the field.

The Royal Ontario Museum ( #ROM ) has vigorous security procedures in place, and there has been no evidence to indicate that any objects are missing as a result of misconduct or wrongdoing, the Canadian museum told the Global Times on Sunday in response to a report that 2,234 items in its collection, including 136 oracle bones from China, are unaccounted for

Why Aren’t Classical Statues Very Well-Endowed?
Cultural values have changed a lot since ancient Greece.
If you spend enough time with classical statuary, you may begin to ask yourself some questions that seem more appropriate to middle school health class than an art history discussion. Namely: Is it just me, or are all these dudes kind of … small?

Not certain about Ancient Greece but Rome had seasonal fertility festivals where they paraded enormous (wooden) phalluses through the streets so I think the context mattered a lot when depicting size.
Also, kind of an aside since it's a different culture, but there is a similar festival in Japan called Kanamara Matsuri which is still celebrated.

If I haven't misunderstood the meaning of "hill", a "backstuga" is not a "hill cottage". " Backe" in swedish has several meanings, and one is "slope" - and many times these houses were situated in a stony slope at the edge of a wood, where nothing could be grown - so some poor people could just as well have it.
