My State Rep. Jeff Crank sent a letter saying he is proud to co-sponsor a bill to eliminate the Department of Education.
My response:
In your email saying you are proud to co-sponsor H.R. 899 to terminate the Department of Education, you say that you believe "Parents know what is best for their child and should be given the tools to provide the best education for their child, not the federal government." A debatable point, but more importantly an irrelevant one.
In the same paragraph you say that the Department of Education exists to "promote student achievement and equal access to education." Nothing in that mission is incompatible with parental input and/or guidance.
Please tell me honestly which of the department's goals you find so odious.
Do you oppose student achievement?
Do you oppose equal access to education?
If neither, then you have not even begun to make your case for removing the department. Even accepting, for the moment, your opinion that parents actually do know better than professionals with years of pedagogical experience and training, you have yet to make an argument. You have not shown that D of E is somehow failing to give parents the tools to give their children the best education. You need to not only show that, but also why the problem cannot be solved with smaller changes.
Does the sort of "hand waving" you use in your letter work for some of your constituents? I'm not buying it. Do your work. We are supposed to be moving toward a meritocracy. Show your merit by showing your work. Make your case.
Sincerely,
Kevin Bowersox

(also not one guy moves to help her. In fact the one sitting next to her gets up so they can have easier access)

The more we let this slide, the worse it's going to get. You'll see people 'rationalize' this...as in "well it's ID" etc... before you know it, women have lost the right to vote.

have been struck by how much felon47 seems like the anti-Christ, which is problematic for me as an atheist who does not believe in prophesy.
But then it hit me, The anti-Christ of Revelation was actually Herod. So what I'm seeing is the recurrence of a type. The narcissist, unqualified, power-mad, asshole. A type that echoes through history like a fart in a cathedral.

I'm the same. Don't believe in that AntiChrist stuff. Still somewhat satisfying to throw the possibility in the face of those who do. 🤷
Otherwise, yeah, events seem cyclic. We seem to be in the latest incarnation of the gilded age.

Yup, simple and easy to understand, even for Putin and Trump. No New York jurisdiction required.

Or do you only extend support to Europeans under occupation?
My peace plan:
1. Russian Troops leave Ukraine, including, of course, Crimea immediately.
2. Russia is dismantled as a federation. The federations subjects become independent states. If they fail to establish democratic systems, NATO occupation force intervene.
3. All remaining Russian military stockpile is destroyed, including all the nuclear weapons.
5. All war criminals are prosecuted.
6. Only then we can consider lifting some of the sanctions.

wait until this little fascist with a public bathroom obsession finishes high school biology and learns about XXY, XXX, XYY, XXYY, XXXY, XXXX, XXXXY, XXXXX, and X.
Then we can cover mosaicism, where a single individual has different numbers of chromosomes.
Then we’ll cover intersex people and she’ll realize she has wrongly tormented trans people her whole life.
Maybe, just maybe, the lightbulb will go off 🤯💡and she will realize REALITY IS MORE COMPLICATED THAN SHE THOUGHT. 👩🏫🧬💁♀️
