Perhaps the joke is true, that Dye leaving Apple for Meta will elevate design at both companies.

Bad Dye Job

It might have made some sense to bring someone from the fashion/brand world to lead software design for Apple Watch, but it sure didn’t seem to make sense for the rest of Apple’s platforms. And the decade of Dye’s HI leadership has proven it.

#LiquidAss makes a good demo (such is Apple), but the usability and even readability have been a nightmare, from what I've seen from others.

MacOS Snow Leopard was the high water mark for UI, IMHO. Same era as Windows 7.

For me, this is the worst part of the Liquid Glass UI in iOS 26.

When I press the search button in the App Store, I expect my keyboard to pop up.

Instead, I have to tap again on the search bar that appears along the bottom. But to make it worse, you can’t tap in the same place because that now activates the voice dictation for the search bar.

Make it make sense! 🤦‍♂️

So #LiquidAss just arrived on my #Mac. Is anyone else getting sick of how rounded corners on everything keep geting rounder and rounder? I'm a big boy, you know, I'll probably be right with sharp edges.

Don’t worry, this isn’t an ad for medicine. Regardless of what you think of Apple’s new Liquid Glass design, the company doesn’t want you, or its own video, calling it Liquid Ass.
