I am happy to announce that I will be joining the #W3C Technical Architecture Group as a full member on February 1, 2026.
The #TAG consists of twelve engineers worldwide whose task is to safeguard and extend the web through coordination, collaboration, and review.

Want Inkscape's Multi-page to work in web browsers (and other tools)?
Well my work today has been on moving our inkscape:page element to the SVG standard "view" element. Already supported in web browsers and hopefully supported someday in SVG viewers that use librsvg (are you interested @federicomena ?)
This will need testing and a migration for older data too. But I like more standards compliant files and less custom stuff in inkscape's svg.

With great sadness we learned yesterday of the peaceful passing of @gkellogg last Saturday.
In the last 14 years, as a W3C Invited Expert, Gregg co-edited 9 standards and a dozen other specs. He also implemented them all and contributed test suites that #w3c groups are still using.
His implication in the JSON-LD Working Group, that he co-chaired, was instrumental to the success of JSON-LD.
For all this, but also his friendliness and good nature, he will be dearly missed.
#ActivityPub is peanuts, right? All peanuts, all varieties, shapes and sizes. Isn't it peculiar then that six years after AP became a #W3C recommendation we are still all mostly eating from 1 small ingredient package of the primitive #ActivityStreams variety. One small bag to cook with, and supply us with rich #fediverse peanut butter. Isn't that becoming somewhat bland and boring?
