I found yesterday's bicycle protest at Queens Park extremely uplifting. It wasn't just the fact that hundreds of cyclists showed up to protest on a cold, cloudy, late -November afternoon. It was also the hero's welcome we received in the streets of this city of beautiful people. On Bloor Street, Pedestrians cheered and cars honked in support.

I've been reporting these taxies using the protected bike lane as a taxi rank at night every time I ride through there for almost 2yrs and finally getting some changes.

"Thank you for your feedback regarding taxi's parking in the bike lane outside Crown Casino. I have issued a work order to install additional bike lane kerbs and signage that will reduce the entry width of the bike lane to 1.8 metres.

This should help prevent vehicles entering the protected section of the bike lane. I will keep you updated as this job gets issued for installation."

Got back from my mini-tour down the Silver Comet! After a later than expected start and some mechanical issues I didn't make my goal of doing my first century, and *still* haven't done the Chief Ladiga trail (I turned around at the border and came back to camp where I knew I could get more water), but I had a great time none the less.

Total distance for both days was 135.37 miles with an average moving speed of 10.4 mph. Max speed was 29.5 mph down a particularly steep hill!
