There is, it seems to me, a great need for the greens to get serious about getting the word out. In whatever form it may take, they sorely need it.

Why arenlt the #greens (official) on the #fedi? Are they? If so where? Do they run an #instance? They absolutely should! And toot like crazy.

There's "communities" for nearly everything on the #Fediverse. It is a strange misconception that a server software like Mastodon was something like a centralized #server #instance that was required to "allow" for anything, or could "prohibit" it, for everybody.

On the Fediverse, your server instance can allow or prohibit anything, just like any other instance. When your topic is hated on most other instances, there might be good reasons for that, though.

Still you can even run your very own instance fully dedicated to ShittyTopic™. It's just that nobody is obliged to listen to you, or to say friendly things about it, or to never block your instance.

They create an account on a #server for every single #hashtag in the #fediverse just so they can #boost every single hashtag that is tooted. 🤣🤣🤣

I don't manage an #instance (I ran a #BBS back in the day and that was enough for me) but I have to think this takes up server or processing resources.

Also, apologies to folks reading these toots with a #screenreader. I understand that it pronounces the word "hashtag" every single time a hashtag is used. I will eventually behave.

From an onboarding perspective, this sounds like a terrible idea. 🫣 Even if migration really works seamlessly.
But could be worth trying, if only to test the common wisdom or to prove that something like this could work. 😅

Main hurdle is of course force of habit.
- Getting used to type another URL later
- Fear of losing friends and time invested when moving instances
- Starting something in the knowledge it's only temporary
- having a Deadline

Here's an idea for #Mastodon: if it's so difficult to decide on an #instance for new users, how about a dedicated startup instance where new people are encouraged to create accounts?

👉 all accounts older than 3 months are deleted -> find yourself a home within that period of time

👉 a bot gives tips on finding a proper instance to its users and help with account migration without annoying people who are Fediverse veterans already

👉 the local timeline consists of people in the same situation -> supporting themselves

"incubator.social" is an available domain 😉

I met Mastodon in 2022 and registered in metalhead.club, but as the most servers out there, it didn't let me write more than 666 characters (xD funny, isn't it? 😈 ). So I started looking for an instance that would allow me to write longer and that was aligned with my interests. I found one and migrate: a server specialized in music. But... sadly, my "political" opinions were not welcome due to its content restrictions... That was disappointing. That's why I'm here now, in beige.party, a highly recommended server by several contacts I had in metalhead.club. They were right, so here I am, starting from scratch again. I'm just waiting for the 30 days period Mastodon takes to allow a new migration.

I'm beginning to post exclusively here, so I will post a statement on my other account to let my followers know that they can find me here from now on.

This instance’s #moderation seems to condone or even encourage, through lack of #enforcement , #age related #abuse of #seniors #elderly and those who have been around long enough to have actually #witnessed some stuff. And it typically comes from accounts using #pseudonyms to hide behind as they hurl their #attacks

I moved to Bluesky but after moving from social media platform to social media platform and then being driven away by a change of ownership I'm jittery.

I am worried that some right wing oligarch will snap up #bluesky too so I decided to start and put all my thoughts on #mastodon and own my own instance. I suppose you could say it's ultimate control.
