The Democratic Party begins 2025 with several looming questions. Among them: who will lead its national party apparatus, and how it will handle President-elect Donald Trump's second term.
It is kind of an axiom in computer science that it is better to have a single pool of a resource rather than several pools. (With several pools there can be situations where one pool runs out and others have unused capacity.)
Same with firefighting - the private groups (which I consider the equivalent of private jets) will tend to mean that if nobody is paying (as would be the case of a fire in a non-wealthy area) that firefighting resources go unused.
I do see, however, some benefits of private firefighters with regard to the pre-fire inspection and hardening. But I don't see why that needs big fire gear - just people who you can hire to come out and take a look and initiate repairs. We had an insurance company that sent out a former fire fighter who made sure our eve vents had spark/cinder screens and that our trees were adequately pruned away from the house, etc.

J’ai eu la chance de pouvoir beaucoup voyager et réfléchir aux questions de paix et de guerre, de crise et de conflit, d’éthique et de morale, modestement mais constamment depuis plus de 30 ans.
Je suis tout simplement une femme qui n’a pour volonté, ferveur, ambition et détermination que de défendre le retour de la France sur la scène internationale à la place qui doit être la sienne : une puissance d’équilibre et d’influence utile au monde, tant sur le plan diplomatique que stratégique et militaire (ces domaines étant mon cœur de compétence et d’expérience).
Occidentale et européenne, je veux que l’Europe retrouve sa raison, sa sagesse, son humanité et sa sécurité. Je ne suis ni pro ni anti qui ou quoi que ce soit, ni d’extrême droite, ni d’extrême gauche ; je suis d’extrême France.

Let me preface: I really am in awe of all your incredible work. Pixelfed is great, loops has potential (just not for me personally ^^).
But there are substantiated criticisms of decisions you made which could have been avoided if you had been part of a team. Please understand: I'm worried for your personal well-being and the longevity of your projects.

Ich wollte das Routing zunächst alles auf dem Switch machen: das hat aber nicht funktioniert. Nun habe ich mir günstig ein Unifi Gateway für nen Zwanni bei eBay geshoppt. Und damit habe ich es hinbekommen. Ist auch ohnehin ganz praktisch wegen DHCP im VLAN (was der Switch eh nicht gekonnt hätte). (2/x)
Auch die per Trunk angeschlossenen kleinen Switches funktionieren. Der eine Kniff, auf den ich erstmal kommen musste: Ich musste auf der FRITZ!Box noch eine statische Route einrichten, dass aller Verkehr fürs IoT Netzwerk über das Unifi Gateway gehen soll. Als Nicht-IT Profi bin ich ein bisschen stolz auf mich. (3/x)
