In my attempt to find a non-Google photo archiving system, I tried KDE Connect linking to my Debian-based Plex server.
KDE Connect lets me choose and send photos directly from my mobile to the server (default location is in Downloads), and then you can run a command line via KDE Connect to move the files from the Download directory to the Plex library location of your choice. And it works! It was much faster than plugging the phone in and attempting via USB.

It's pretty nice. Dead easy to set up.
I leave it running on a Raspberry Pi 4 at home so there's always a node available to sync with.
I have my documents, videos, phone backups, and photos on separate shares (directories) so that I can sync just a minimal amount on my systems with less storage.
It's a pretty great solution.
I setup syncthings today to essentially rid myself of Google Keep. Now I have Obsidian running on phone and 1 laptop with syncthings keeping them both, well, synced!
