Pokémon Go’s developer is laying off at least 68 workers.

Niantic Spatial announced the job cuts after it sold its gaming business to the Saudi Arabia-owned developer Scopely last month. But now we know how many employees may be affected, as a California WARN notice filed in March (but spotted now by Game Developer) indicates that Niantic will lay off 68 employees in the state on May 20th, 2025.

Damn, Good Smile didn't invest enough in 4chan's security I guess? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(In case you hadn't heard, 4chan has suffered from a colossal and likely site ending hack.)

Seriously though, there's claims that some .gov emails have been found in the leaks from the website. I can't wait for these fuckers to get exposed. (Edit: Awwww, seems most of the email "leaks" so far aren't real, sadness. Will update again if that changes.)

But in all seriousness, Fedi folks should be sure their own moderation and security is on lock right now. We are likely to be flooded with nasty fuckers due to all this, even if just temporarily.

The article states that 85 percent to 90 percent of children with gender dysphoria outgrow those feelings. This is not correct. The fact is that only a small percentage of gender dysphoric kids change their gender experience.

The "autogynephilia" theory has been thoroughly debunked by other scientists.

The rapid onset gender dysphoria theory was based on questionnaires sent to transphobic parents recruited through anti-trans web sites.

Now, THAT is pseudo-science.

Almost the Center of our Galaxy
-----------------------------------------------

I really wanted to get as close as possible to the milky way center as possible for my latitude.
This was as close to the horizon as possible before dawn.
It was worth the struggle of waking up at 3:30 AM at this remote location, because I got to test my new portable wide-angle setup for the first time :)
