This is fucking terrifying.

It’s not a new concern, but good to be reminded that your entire digital life can be annihilated in an instant with no recourse

Truly confounded by the media class, or anyone is remotely supporting the idea of the US bringing democracy to another country, especially right now

Then I remember how much the media has already consolidated already, and things make a ever so slightly more sense

"THEY HATE US FOR OUR FREEDOM! " remember that? It was used to justify going into Afghanistan to get their oil.

Hello all. We're pleased to announce some big famichiki news 🎉
As many of you have heard, @brian has handed over the reins, and the remaining mod team will be taking the helm. But that isn't all — we’re also taking steps to make the organization more robust and transparent. So here’s the big news: we will be forming a voluntary association (任意団体) to run famichiki :famichiki:
in reply to Famichiki Admins

To form a voluntary association, we must hold a General Meeting each year and provide information about the group’s finances and activities. This increases transparency and gives members a voice in how famichiki is run. :donki: For example, the General Meeting must approve the charter and any major revisions to it.
in reply to Famichiki Admins

The organization’s charter is available at flockofcats.xyz/content/files/…, and we will be holding our first General Meeting on Dec 20, 2025, on Zoom. The agenda includes approving the charter, approving the spending plan for the upcoming year, and approving the admin team. The proposed admin team is: @pippa as representative director, @FlockOfCats as treasurer, @piepants as administrator, @lukas as administrator, and @savvykenya as moderator
in reply to Famichiki Admins

If anyone has questions, comments, or suggested revisions to the charter, please let us know. We would also like to give a big thanks to @networker_365 for his help in preparing the charter — both in sorting out the Japanese language and for giving valuable comments on the content in both languages. Truly appreciated 🙏
in reply to Famichiki Admins

We are a community-driven organization, and our hope is that these changes will help us better serve the community not just today but in the years to come, even if/when the admin team changes. Famichiki has been around for three years, carving out our own niche on the internet — no big tech, no surveillance capitalism — just the community here and across the Fediverse ✨ These steps will help us continue with transparency, sustainability, and continuity. :chikified:
