Christmas releases

There will be Christmas release of both #Coventry and #Bordeaux with improved documentation, particularly how to do setup and testing. Another change in Coventry is cleaner call tracing in debug. The big change is the 3rd milestone release of Bordeaux, where it finally becomes a platform. The Bordeaux wiki still needs updating, but gives some idea of the intended goals and features.

What is Coventry?

Coventry is a IP telephony server for connecting SIP devices and softphones with advanced voice, messaging, and facility automation services for gnu/linux that is optimized for running on small servers such as Raspberry Pi, and possibly even routers.

Finally, I have drafted a full feature description for Coventry, which really includes next years goals.

!Tips and Help (social.trom.tf) Friends we may have fixed Frendica. If you still see the 502 nginx error please tell us.

!Tips and Help (social.trom.tf) If you see a "502" error try to clear your browser's cache. Let us know if that fixes the issue.

!Tips and Help (social.trom.tf) ur Friendica instance throws 502 Nginx errors at times, so you cannot access certain pages. This comes after we updated it a few days ago. It is very unfortunate and so far we have no idea how to fix it. We reported it to the Friendica and Yunohost developers. See github.com/friendica/friendica…

!Tips and Help (social.trom.tf) Hey people, we have added a new cool thing to our TROM Social, the presentation page. Here trom.tf/social/ (scroll down a bit). It is a list of sources we recommend for you to follow on TROM Social. It is as easy as copy paste these sources to your contacts' list. We are adding a lot more so check it out from time to time. The direct link is this trom.tf/social/#rec

Connect with Twitter

!Tips and Help (social.trom.tf) It is possible to connect with your Twitter account now. Simply go to Settings - Social Networks. Click Twitter and click to connect. You'll be redirected to a Twitter page to authorize our app. Get the code, add it to your settings page. That's all.

Now you can follow people on Twitter and interact with them from social.trom.tf. In theory you should also be able to post on Twitter, however from my tests it did not work.

In any case, this is a way for you to give up the trade-based ad-network that is Twitter, and use the trade-free social network social.trom.tf :).

Enable "stay local"

Go to Settings - Display - Content/Layout and enable (mark) the "stay local". This option will make it so that when you click someone's name, it won't kick off our platform, it will display that user's posts and profile in a native/local way, on social.trom.tf. It is overall a better experience for all users.
