@GinevraSun

If you have any neurological signs, please consult a doctor immediately.

If you want to prevent ME, it is of the utmost importance that you take it easy and absolutely avoid overexertion. Avoid anything that takes effort or energy in a tiring sort of way, be it physical, mental or emotional. Including work, if possible, and certainly sports.
Only when you are completely well again FOR SEVERAL WEEKS already, you can slowly start to build up again.

Metformin (medication for chronic diabetes) seems to be able to prevent 63% of long covid when taken within 3 days of the start of symptoms, and if you're a bit slower to get it it still does a lot of good.

I have no idea if it would prevent ME triggered by westnilevirus as well, but metformin is very safe, so if you could find a doctor who's willing to prescribe it off label, that would probably be a good idea.

Agreed.

Good luck @GinevraSun!

You can read more about pacing here:

It's a method for people with ME to avoid getting worse. But the opposite is true as well: people with covid that are too active, have a bigger chance to develop serious long covid (and ME). So pacing is the smart thing to do.

More about that here:
