We have a system that ruthlessly prevents the fulfilment of each individual, and an organised system that, through authority, dogmas, beliefs and fear, destroys individual discernment of reality or truth. Action born of this search for security is continually creating limitation, bringing about frustration. There is no completeness, fulfilment. There can be the welfare of mankind only when each individual truly fulfils. To realise individual fulfilment, you who are now so many repetitive reactions, cogs in a social and religious machine, have to become individuals by questioning all values – moral, social, religious – and discover for yourselves, without following any person or system, their true significance. You will then discern that these values are fundamentally based on egotism and selfishness. The mere imitation of values, whose deep significance you have not understood, must lead to frustration. Instead of waiting for a miraculous change or a mass movement you, the individual, must awaken; you have to come into conflict with the values you have established through your craving for security.
