"The carnival-casino era of #cryptocurrencies has come back with a vengeance, riding a broader wave of investment in bitcoin that was itself spurred by the election of Donald Trump. It’s minting millionaires while potentially harming others — yet everyone, even the losers, seem to be in on the joke ... Yes, it’s called Fartcoin. Yes, it is totally useless. Nevertheless it tripled in value over the past week to a market capitalization of more than $700 million"

On December 16, 1773, the Sons of Liberty boarded three ships in Boston Harbor and threw the cargo of tea overboard. This act of defiance was a response to the British government’s decision to tax the colonies without giving them representation in Parliament.

As well as filling in your profile, it's a really good idea to also pin an introduction post about yourself to your profile.
Pinned posts let you write a lot more than profile texts, and let you attach photos, audio or video. You can even reply to your own pinned post to create a pinned thread.
More info including how to pin posts:
➡️ fedi.tips/how-do-i-pin-my-post…
For technical reasons, pinned posts and pinned threads are distributed much more widely than ordinary posts.

Pinned posts are treated differently at a technical level by Mastodon, they are (currently) the only type of post that is automatically "backfilled" to any server that views the profile. This means everyone who views a profile will always see all of its pinned posts.
Normal posts don't get backfilled, so they may not be visible to everyone, which is why some profiles might look blank:

Profiles with pinned posts never look blank because of backfilling 🙂

Falling Knife
in reply to Global Museum • • •It is frustrating seeing #blockchain technology being perverted. Just as papyrus makers would have been either abhorred or titillated at the invention of #Playboy magazine. When you release a true revolution and innovation into the world, the risk is that you lose control of the intention.
