The battery on my new Lenovo M11 tablet was draining fast and it didn't make any sense because the tablet and battery is brand new. It's supposed to last all day. Turns out it was the Facebook app running in the background nonstop spying on everything I'm doing on the tablet and using all the battery power. Deleted the app. Problem is fixed.

“I feel that if we don't take seriously the ways in which racism is embedded in structures of institutions, if we assume that there must be an identifiable racist who is the perpetrator, then we won't ever succeed in eradicating racism.”

Here's a quote from a recent SCOTUS majority opinion...

"SB1 does not exclude any individual
from medical treatments on the basis of transgender status
but rather removes one set of diagnoses—gender dysphoria,
gender identity disorder, and gender incongruence—from
the range of treatable conditions."

So, the law doesn't prevent treating trans kids, it just prevents treating people under 18 who don't identify with the sex assigned at birth. Nothing against trans kids at all!

How could they write that with a straight face?

I have started a new podcast with a friend in which we examine and pick apart strange movies. The first episode, on "We’re All Going to the World’s Fair," is out, along with a trailer and teaser. You'll get a short bonus episode on "Class of 1984" tomorrow, and a full one on "I Saw the TV Glow" (probably my favorite movie of the past five years) next week.

In part because the barrier of the computer screen means I have no way of knowing if how you're presenting yourself is the least bit accurate. Which I think is driven home by the way we experience Casey: starting with her first Skype call with JLB, we only experience her life through a computer screen. Primairly as JLB watches her videos, but also the second Skype call, and what he says about when they (allegedly) met up in person.

“They made healthcare a commodity, education a debt trap, and housing a speculation market — then told you that poverty is a personal failing.
They privatized survival and called it freedom."

‘The End’

Rogue Enterprises 3 is a wrap. I’ll let it sit for a few days before diving into revisions/clean up.

In the meantime, time to start outlining Grand Human Empire 6.

The image displays a block of text on a plain white background. The text is formatted in a simple, clean font, with no additional graphics or images. The text is divided into three paragraphs, each beginning with a quotation mark. The first paragraph reads: "This job can't end soon enough." Zephyr said leaning back in her chair. She looked over to Wil. "Your people are nothing but trouble." The second paragraph states: Wil winked. "You ain't seen nothing yet." The third paragraph is simply: The End. The text is centered on the page, with no other visual elements present.
