*reposting because I had to rollback to a backup
Sloooow build continues.
All the cutting should be done. I had to recut all the surfaces of the legs, none of it was square or smooth enough to use as a tenon. All that bowtie cutting, tuning my bandsaw, and working on my chisel skills really paid off. It's kinda wild how much new stuff I learned on this.
Now the tennons of the leg fit nicely into the mortises but not too snugly. My original thought was that I might not glue it in so it's easier to move by deconstructing it easily. I haven't moved in 16 years but I grew up moving every 1-3 years for over two decades and it still shapes my thinking.
Next steps are to sand, sand, sand, glue the legs, sand, finish, sand, finish. I have a couple angles of the whole piece. Not sure how to take the glamour shots when I'm done. Looking for ideas and suggestions! Oh yeah, the finish will be two part hard wax oil from Rustic Lumber, a small business I wanted to support, but... didn't realize the actual product was called Woodaddy until I opened the package
