These are images of the california nebula (ngc1499) taken from my very urban (bortle 8) driveway on Nov 18th with an un-tracked un-guided un-filtered view through my 6" f/5 dobsonian telescope. About 1500 500ms exposures are stacked to give an effective exposure time of about 9.5 min in the center. The first image shows the full field .. notice that the edges area somewhat random shape made as the object drifted through the field multiple times and "fuzzier" representing the lower signal to noise from fewer images there. The center is crisp and well defined. The second image is simply a rectangular crop of the first.
