Well said Colin!

I believe that society is fractal in nature and our complex problems are the result of one simple but flawed input rule: like-for-like exchange. The notion of trade - requiring something of equivalent value to swap - is the foundation of pretty much any social problem you care to mention, yet most people - even many anti-capitalists - still believe that trade is an innocuous force for good, and some immutable rule of life.
Trade foments private property, ring-fencing, scarcit...y, greed, poverty, envy, narcissism, crime, short-cutting, short-term thinking, waste, destruction of habitat, over-extraction of resources, consumerism, dis-responsibility, power & corruption, false advertising, miseducation, propaganda, nations, war, etc.
One simple rule begets all these things. And it's a rule that has no basis in nature and we could very easily change if people could only grasp the connection between the complex problems in the world and the simple acts they do every day.Sharing is the antithesis of trade, and the promotion of the commons and life-reinforcing education could reverse our adherence to this imaginary methodology.
