Encouraging to read such a down-to-earth and to-the-point comment. I live in Catalonia (Spain) and I've heard that there are several such communities here. I also know one in the south of spain where they even provide you with a house if you help build other houses (including yours). We do think about such solutions. At least to try out. On one hand I'd be curious to talk to these people and also expose them to TROM, on the other hand I am quite anti-social in many regards. I do not like small talks or be surrounded by many people. I like my own comfort and space. So we will see. But for sure I'll have to try such things.

Thanks again for sharing this with me. I've heard of Auroville.

Auroville seems interesting, why haven't I heard about this before ?! There might be a lot more projects like this we're not even aware of. This trade-free idea is the best because it could bring all these awesome projects under the same goal. It gives me hope to see such projects, there are a lot of good people in this world who want to help each other out and build a better future.

Have you considered fear as a factor?
Many people fear they won't have enough wealth for themselves.
Others fear they won't have enough wealth to help others/close ones when they'll need it.

In such a fearful world, people hesitate to trust that kindness will be returned eventually.
On the other hand trade prospers since it's enforced by police and courts which people fear even more, allowing them to trust they will get at least something in return.

Sure fear is a factor. That's why us, the ones who are not as fearful, need to create more trade-free goods/services to showcase that it can work and can be trusted. And spread the word about it all. I know from experience that some do not trust using our trom.tf services: peertube, friendica, nextcloud, and so forth. Because they are free. Which is weird to me, but I can then show them we have these projects for more than a year and other projects for more than 10 years, so they end up trusting what we provide. We need to create a good tracking record.

A "visual" proof of why this trade-based society is a disaster:

I wish I could help more, but I find myself in a tricky situation in relation to taxes and fines and I know no other way right now than to keep trading my time, skills, energy and health in exchange for money in order for me and my partner to keep up. Big hug Tio.
